Self-Seeking…Serenity

selfish 1

Less if self

Spit and glued

fertile and flesh

with bone…

immortally collecting dust upon a singular bookshelf.

Delicately grooming rooms,

in the motel from Hell.

Drink alone?

Where have all the good girls gone?

Must everybody,

get stoned?

Less of self…self-less

Lifetime awards

bronzed shadows…

ever so tall.

Chalked outlines,

just another brick in the wall.

13 steps filled with other traditions.

Miserly wanting more from the candy store.

Day by day…

praying for faith at a closed door.

A less of self test.

Thinking of self…less.

The wandering miser will never find rest.

“True ambition is not what we thought it was. True ambition is the profound desire to live usefully and walk humbly under the grace of God.”
