Changing Direction

“Alas,” said the mouse, “the whole world is growing smaller every day. At the beginning it was so big that I was afraid, I kept running and running, and I was glad when I saw walls far away to the right and left, but these long walls have narrowed so quickly that I am in the last chamber already, and there in the corner stands the trap that I must run into.”
“You only need to change your direction,” said the cat, and ate it up.” #Kafka

What Would Kafka Do?

The era of cyberspace, chat-rooms,selfies…Has led into a new and improved form of adult bullying.   It is everywhere we go…

First the spoken/written/texted word…and, then maybe a passing thought…

‘Have I taken the time to walk in another’s shoes!

“We are as forlorn as children lost in the wood. When you stand in front of me and look at me, what do you know of the griefs that are in me and what do I know of yours? And if I were to cast myself down before you and tell you, what more would you know about me that you know about Hell when someone tells you it is hot and dreadful?”

the Current State of…the State

There have been numerous discussions on ‘the way of the world’ today!  Particularly, the United States.  The fear that sets heavy in my stomach in the morning when I rise?  At night, upon a not peaceful sleep?

I am brought back to the moment in time; when the focus had been on the Cold War.  The Vietnam war having just ended.  And, the, walking on egg shells, feeling, my parents displayed.  And, perhaps, not just them, but other Baby Boomers, as well.

the Room

maybe, maybe not 1

I have always been fascinated, visually, by my ‘room’!  My psyche…behind four walls.  Beating like a heart…bleeding like the history it has shed.

From birth, our room, is made up of conformity!  Society’s belief of how mass generated humans…should behave.

The artist.  Be it a painter and/or a quiet philosopher…learns somewhere along the way that the ‘room’ is theirs and theirs alone.

My Downtown, Franklin NH

Often this room needs revision from the dusty old thoughts of…how things should be and how they always have been!

Every artist is prone to things that go bump in the night!
Every artist is prone to things that go bump in the night!

“Everyone carries a room about inside him. This fact can even be proved by means of the sense of hearing. If someone walks fast and one pricks up one’s ears and listens, say in the night, when everything round about is quiet, one hears, for instance, the rattling of a mirror not quite firmly fastened to the wall.”

Alex Sink (vying for Florida’s 13th congressional seat) has given a devastating almost blow to Boehner!  Gee, do you think it was paid for by the republicans or democrats?

Can Alex Baldwin really be that much of an ass?

Alec is excused from Homophobia Rehab class today due to the following reasons:

Americans still want to believe that the Grinch will steal Christmas and that stupid is as stupid does!

“Evil is whatever distracts.” ― Franz Kafka

772 manatees have died this year – a record number of deaths and a gigantic toll for an animal whose total population is estimated around 5,000 animals.

They are victims of a perfect and deadly storm – habitat loss, pollution, boat collisions and to make matters worse many manatees have died from the two unusual algal blooms, one on each coast!

Well, Elvis is dead and the manatees and most of the uninsured Obamacrat’s don’t feel so good themselves!

Isn’t what we want is a little truth in our Fruity Pebbles?  What gives?  I spent a weekend on the healthcare.org website or whatever alias it goes by now.  72 hours spent digging through the rubbish of my medical past only to be told the list of my physical shortcomings and my financial non status had indeed been what I suspected all along=

Not ready for prime-time!  Too much too little too soon.  So here I sit with my lack of one kidney in one hand and my perishable checking account in the other…wondering what qualifies for shit on a ballot civil servant nowadays and would I qualify for that?
